Ever want to sail the seas with your pals? Ever want to do it as a Demon Queen? Then look no further than Fabraz's Demon Tides.

Join Beebz and friends on a wild journey and travel the oceans around Ragnar's Rock. From distant islands, ships, and unlocking treasure chests, to speed challenges that allow you to compete against other players, and with plenty of ocean to traverse, there's an abundance of adventure to discover. You can even leave graffiti around the world for others to find!
Demon Tides follows the game Demon Turf, but fear not. You don't have to play Demon Turf to understand or even play Demon Tides. Demon Tides was created with new players in mind, offering a fun and adventurous world to jump into. Any important backstory is reintroduced in fun, sassy ways.
Demon Tides offers a unique playthrough for each player. In addition, players can accessorize and dress Beebz to suit their play style, with different outfits, hairstyles, dyes, and talismans to discover.

Demon Tides demo review
You start off following Beebz and her friends, DK, Luci, and Midgi. They are traveling on a ship to Ragnar's Rock to meet "him". Before we find out who this mysterious male figure is, the ship runs into reefs that appear out of nowhere, crashing and sending our protagonist into the tutorial.

The tutorial was very simple and easy to play through. While some functions like graffiti aren't available, the rest allow you to understand the gameplay with ease.
Once you've found all your friends, you must search the area for parts to create a ship in which to escape this mysterious red reef (which really hurts if you touch it). The gameplay allows players to find their own way around and travel the world. My favorite way was snake form. Whether on land or in the water, snake form is the way to travel. As DK says, "snake form go zoom".

The open world setting is great if you have the time and patience to explore uncharted areas, explore islands, and want to unlock time challenge chests. Having a mobile checkpoint is great, especially when exploring. If you are high up and miss a step or don't make a jump, having to start over can be really discouraging or even make you rage quit.

I love the customization of the outfits, hairstyles, and colors you can unlock for Beebz. There are numerous combinations a player can come up with that reflect who the player is, as well as who the player believes Beebz to be.
Luci, one of Beebz's friends, is the party's fashionista. She makes outfits and hairstyles based on ones found while adventuring. Of course, these come at a cost, which is paid for with in-game currency found in the game. So, if fashion is something you like, then you will have plenty of outfits to try on in this game.
DK and Midgi create talismans that upgrade abilities. These upgrades can improve jumping in different forms, allow you to float longer in the air, and many others to discover through gameplay. Like the outfits and hairstyles, talismans cost in-game currency: be smart with your purchases, and make sure you're only buying what you really want.

The speed challenges in the game are fun and challenging. While you can't play directly with other players, you can record your times on different runs and see where you place in an online leaderboard.
Tagging/ graffiti is another cool way to leave your mark on the game. Literally. Players can see graffiti that other players place in the game. Some are funny, others may point to chests or portals. It's a way to feel connected but allow you to have your own space.
I would recommend this game to casual players who like open-world settings and adventure. If you have the time and willingness to grind at the game, then this is a game for you. The fun and sassy interactions between characters will have you laughing and begging for more.
Designed with the PC in mind, the game is also controller-friendly. I played the demo on my Steam Deck and had no problems with the gameplay.

Demon Tides is set to be released in 2025 and can be wishlisted on Steam.
