Pokemon Legends: Z-A Guide "Main Mission 08 - Reaching Rank V"

After a really weird wake up chat with you, Lida, and AZ where AZ casually drops that the hotel was designed to, essentially, be his final resting place, Lida takes off to go do dance practice.

After she leaves you realize she left her stuff so AZ tasks you with returning it to her. He also suggests battling her to get to know her better.

Track her down to a little alley where she's practicing dancing along with her Staryu. She talks to you about how she came here for dance school but realized she couldn't pay rent and ended up at Hotel Z just like you. Then, for a change of pace and lightening of the mood she challenges you to a Pokemon Battle.

She sends out Clauncher, Vanillite, and finally her Staryu. Having Electric Type attack helps with the first and third Pokemon and Grass Type attacks work on all three.

Also, can we talk about how great it is that they FINALLY decided to give the other characters Pokeballs that match their outfits? Its such a great touch as opposed to the past games where they all just seem to have everything in basic ass Pokeballs.

Afterwards, Lida takes off and your phone pings to let you know that you have a challenger for Rank W. Was I right? Was it going to be someone named Wally? It's...Rintaro? For real? A Z name, a Y, name...even an X name and you got nothing for W? Waldo? Wally? William? Wendy? Come on gang.

Anyways, you need to deal with this guy at his restaurant but first you need to make sure you got enough points so wait till night fall for the Battle Zones to open and get to work cause you need 5000 points.

Once done, head to his restaurant and talk to him. He is a weird guy and after a lot of talk of Pokemon and tastes I'm not convinced he's not putting his mouth on Pokemon.

Once you're in the battle he's going to throw out Simisage, Simipour, and Simisear. These are pretty easy ones to counter, Sage is Grass, so Fire attacks, Pour is Water so Grass or Electric, and Sear is Fire so Water. Easy peasy.

Afterwards he laments his loss while you happily move up to Rank V. Hopefully there's a V named trainer up next like Valorie or Vincent. We'll find out.
