Welcome to one of the many entries from our constantly growing Pokemon Legends: Z-A guide!
After waking up in your hotel room you're going to head down to the lobby where everyone's waiting for you. Taunie tells you she wants to take a field trip to see Prism Tower.
Outside you meet a group of miners. No Drake, miners, with an E. Anyways, their boss, Terragon, tells Taunie that they're done fixing up the outside of the hotel and that they've been using scaffolding to create obstacle courses around the city with special prizes on them, which is a WILD thing for city workers to be doing.
He also gives you a "Red Canari Plush" which makes all your Pokemon gain EXP faster.
They leave and Taunie decides to take a shortcut to the tower involving climbing to the roof. She finds a bunch of pink stone blocking it and tells you that it's Mega Crystal and using a Pokemon to smash it will let you collect some which you can trade in for things.
Anywho, smash the stone and head up. On the roof, follow Taunie and eventually she'll show you the tower.

From there you head closer and pass a Wild Zone. She tells you to go in and have fun for a minute. Talk to the woman at the enterance and she'll give you 10 Poke Balls.
Inside the Wild Zone I found Magikarp, Budew, Binacle, Patrat, and Kakuna.
Once I'm done I head out and find Taunie at a coffee vendor. She treats me to a coffee, cementing her as my favorite, and we sit to chat.
A large man named Vinnie, who just happens to be the secretary for the CEO of Quasartico Inc, the company that runs most of the city. He and Taunie talk for a brief moment and Taunie decides it's time to head to Looker Bureau.
On the way you spot a large crowd gathered in front of Rogue Plaza and look to see what the hubbub is about. There you meet a man named Ivor, standing with four girls in karate gis. He gives a big sell for his group The Fist of Justice who believe that Wild Zones should be gone, Pokemon should live free, and mankind should all learn to be strong enough to take Pokemon in a fight. This is like someone saying, "We don't need dog leashes if we're all okay with punching dogs". I love it.
Suddenly, one of his crew, the fifth-strongest, named Josée challenges me to a battle and sends out a Machop and then a Meditite. But I beat them faster than you can say "No Way" to Josée.
After I beat her everyone leaves and I can take a look in the Wild Zone 3 they were standing in front of. Inside I capture a Skiddo, a white Flabébé, Espurr, Litleo, and Pikachu. DEFINITELY capture a Pikachu cause you'll need one for an upcoming side mission. Trust me.
Afterwards, head to the Looker Bureau where Emma tells you that she needs your help with her cases because I don't know why my character came here originally but I guess it was to be ASSED WITH EVERYTHING.
I accept and she tells me she needs me to do three side missions for her so I can prove my worth. So this is how we get Pokemon Legends Arceus style Side Missions.
Once those are done (don't worry, we have guides for the side missions on the main page as well) return to Emma and she congratulates you, gives you a job, and immediately segues into a speech about Mega Evolution before asking you to come outside.

She challenges you to a battle against her Mareep which is easy.
Afterwards she takes out her Ampharos and displays what Mega Evolution is and looks like.

She then thanks you for your time and asks you to keep an eye out for a four-legged black Pokemon which, judging from the yellow circle clip in her black hair I can guess is an Umbreon and not a Houndoom.
With that, mission complete!
