Persona 4 Revival is Real! - Confirmed at Xbox Games Showcase! Persona 6 Teased!

Finally! I mean, we KNEW but we didn't KNOW, y'know?

Personal 4's remake has been confirmed today at Xbox Games Showcase. After many months of leaks and confirming without confirming, ATLUS has shown us that a remake of Persona 4, to be called Persona 4 Revival will be coming to Xbox (Day One on Game Pass), PS5, and PC (Xbox PC and Steam).

P-STUDIO Kazuhisa Wada had the following to say in a post-show announcement:

"We are very pleased to announce the release of Persona 4 Revival. We look forward to sharing even more information in due time. Persona 4 has spawned numerous spin-off works, including TV anime, Persona 4 Arena, Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, and Persona 4: Dancing All Night, and is a special title that has been a part of Atlus for many years and holds a personal place in my heart. We are currently working on this project with all our passion and love. We are confident that this will be a fresh and surprising product for both newcomers and long-time fans and we look forward to sharing it with you all.

Additionally, we are actively preparing for the future development of the Persona series as a studio. We are working hard to meet the expectations of fans around the world and our work is progressing well. Please stay tuned for more updates."

Kazuhisa Wada acknowledged that work is progressing on the next installments, alluding to Persona 6 without mentioning it directly. This will be the first new mainline installment in the series since Persona 5 in 2016, 9 years ago. Many fans are waiting with anticipation for this entry, and are hoping for more concrete news soon. For now we will have to be satisfied with a "Work is progressing well".

All in all, it was only a matter of time until it was confirmed, especially after several members of the original cast confirmed the existence of the project. I am optimistic though; this will be my first foray into Persona 4, after joining the series with Persona 3 Reload when it released, and currently nearing the end of my first run through of Persona 5 Royal. I look forward to being able to come into this with the perspective of a new Persona fan, with no preconceived notions from the original release or Golden. No release date was given for Persona 4 Revival, so we will have to wait and see.
