Just because it's now fall, don't feel like you can't go golfing. Sure, it's time to tuck away the real clubs for the season. But, if you've got a Meta VR, Steam VR, or Pico 4 headset, you can keep on practicing with AAA Game Studios' game, Golf 5.
For starters, when Golf 5 launches, you find yourself in a really nice-looking golf club. Top tier, and fancy. I honestly wish it were a little more interactive, or that there was a way to at least sit at the bar and have some fun feature for it. But, as it is, this fancy virtual club is just fine and gorgeous to explore.

From there, players can access the menu and pick their poison. Here's a list of what you can expect from Golf 5:
Online Team Modes: team up in Scramble or Fourball formats.
Flash 3 Holes: fast, exciting 3-hole matches, solo or online.
4 free courses: Dunes, Forest, Tropical, and Safari (3 pin positions each).
7 premium DLC courses: Royal County Down, Royal Troon (host of the 152nd Open), Hoylake, Royal Portrush, Old Course - St Andrews, Sunningdale, and Valderrama.
Match, Stroke, or Stableford

Now, I will say this from the get-go: I know almost nothing about golf. I have minimal experience with the sport, as my beloved husband is the only reason my hands have ever grasped a club. That... Sounds wrong. Anyway. My point is, my understanding of golf is basically: grab club, find hole, hit ball hard enough to hopefully make it go in the general direction I'm aiming at. And, I mean, am I wrong?
Golf 5 is fun and breaks everything down for the player. Knowing the distance I needed to beat in the game, I could finally understand when to use a 9 or a 6 and choose correctly. It shows the player the stats for the specific course they're on and gives them a small sense of having things under control. I most definitely felt calm as I failed every single hole. I let my children play it as well, and they have even less experience with golfing than I do. Though they ultimately did not learn how golf works, I had the time of my life watching them calculate their swing, only to mention how far over the actual hole their ball soared.

Golf 5 is beautiful. The graphics are pretty great, and the environment is very immersive. It truly feels like you're out there on the course, having fun swinging clubs.
Overall, this game is fun and full of modes that are set to entertain everyone, from the novice to the more experienced player. If you're looking for a fun way to keep swinging clubs now that it's officially too cold to golf (at least where I'm at), Golf 5 should scratch that itch for you.
