Who knew it was possible to capture summer in a 3-minute track?
Arty, who's known both as ARTY and ALPHA 9 in the electronic music world, released his latest track, "Flames", last Friday and let's just say it's been playing on repeat in my Air Pods ever since. With an incredible combination of out-of-this-realm vocals by Nu-La and Arty's unique skills, this song comes at us like the summer track we've been patiently waiting for.
On the heels of "Taking Me Higher" and "Lost in Loving You" and its various remixes, "Flames" invokes that weird nostalgia-yet-not-quite feeling in us and delivers all the goosebumps as this song aims to be the one and only song to make summer reels to this year. At least, it will be for me. Sorry, friends and family. And you're welcome.
You can listen to "Flames" below, and it's also available on places like iTunes, Spotify, and more.
Nu-La's vocals are something to be worshiped in this track. The ups and downs, the curves her notes do, the absolute trance her vocals puts the listener on. It's quite the melody. Arty's skills are again shown off in this track as well - and you'd be silly to not notice the pure evolution taking place with his music, track by track. Though this would be a kind of track I'd expect to listen to from the Alpha 9 side of Arty's brand, it perfectly fits summer clubs and late night jamming sessions with friends or by yourself. We don't judge. And have them often.
This song would also be incredible to sing along to while watching Arty play live. The passion in the notes and the empowering lyrics would bring some epic vibes to any gig.
Though "Favorite Sound" has been my favorite of his recent releases, I do have to say that "Flames" has gracefully and politely dethroned "Favorite Sound" and, as a result, I am pretty sure my repeat button is broken. And, if you did enjoy "Flames" and wanted something that lines up with it quite nicely, I highly suggest ALPHA 9's album New Horizons. Specifically, the song "Pharaon". It's quite literally my favorite song and, with one listen, you'll quickly understand why.
Be sure to follow ARTY and ALPHA 9 on social media to keep up with the latest on new releases and tour dates. If you're on the lookout for similar artists, check out Seven Lions, Above & Beyond, and Alok.
