Someone trapped in a cocoon needs you to hit them with a powerful attack to free them. Sorry if I spoiled the answer to the visual puzzle above.

But not just ANY attack, it has to be an attack with a power level of 100 or more. In my case, I used Earthquake. If you're unsure just check your Pokemon's summary and read the strength of all your attacks.
