Pokemon Legends: Z-A Guide "Main Mission 36 - Prism Tower's Dark Turn"

ree

This is part of our extensive guide to Pokemon Legends: Z-A

NOTE: I went with a male presenting character so my character's bestie will be Taunie. If you went with one of the more female presenting ones you'll be friends with Urbain instead.

ALSO, THIS IS THE FINAL MAIN STORY MISSION. SPOILERS

Back at Hotel Z the gang is sitting around their one food again and Taunie tells you that she's ALSO Rank A (which...how, there was like one Rank B person). As they're talking about who Floette will chose there's a commotion with Floette in the lobby.

Floette is near the ground, in pain. Ange, the tower, seems to be affecting Floette. Floette pulls it together and the team decides they need to have a night of rest before everything goes nuts. AZ suggests they all go to bed and then does that "I'm definitely not dying" cough into his hand.

But because this mission will never end, you're woken up that night by an explosion. Taunie starts pounding on your door, telling you to meet her at the elevator. They decide to go to the roof so they can see what's up with the tower from there. Okay, let's see what's...oh...

ree

Okay, yeah, something's amiss.

AZ says that the tower is close to causing an explosion of Rogue Mega evolutions. Vinnie calls Taunie and says the situation needs to be looked in on right away. No fooling. It's time to regroup in Centrico Plaza.

AZ said that if we can stop it, it'll take on the form it was supposed to take. That of something called "Ange Floette". I beg your pardon.

As you're talking, a Zygarde Core sneaks onto Pixigonal.

Teleporting to the tower lands you in the middle of a chaotic glowy mess. Taunie immediately volunteers to be the person to stop the tower, which is cute. Lida's like, "girl what?" Instead of being like "we should both head in as we're both Team A, she does the Pokemon route of saying that the two of us need to battle to see who's stronger. NOT THE TIME.

ree

Taunie of Team MZ uses:

  • Meowstic (weak to Bug, Ghost, Dark)

  • Goodra (weak to Dragon, Ice, Fairy)

  • Avalugg (weak to Fighting, Rock, Fire, Steel)

  • Emboar (weak to Psychic, Ground, Flying, Water)

  • Manectric (weak to Ground)

  • Mega Meganium (weak to Poison, Flying, Steel, Fire, Ice)

It's worth noting that Mega Meganium (fun to say) is 4x weak to Poison.

Afterwards, Taunie gives in and takes the L, trusting you to save that day.

Vinnie then says it's time to head into the tower. And...oh, I guess psyche, because Taunie still wants to be the main character. Look at the look on my character's face. He's like "guuuuurl".

ree

She then makes the point that Zygarde found you worthy. She says that her and Floette should do the tower thing while me and Zygarde stand ready in case things go south. I'm sure that'll work fine.

Vinnie decides that fine and offers to help you below while Taunie goes in. Suddenly AZ calls. He gives a call about how you all need to carry on where he could not. And then he asks that Floette gives Team MZ it's help. Oh yeah, AZ is definitely going to be alive and well after all this.

As they go in, Floette offers Taunie the Floettite stone and Taunie mega evolves it and..is that an umbilical cord? Wild.

ree

The two of them float up to the top of the tower where they definitely won't be a boss fight. They head into a room that looks like Shera's cockpit Taunie starts live streaming so people can watch what's happening.

Everything's going perfectly!

Just playing. Suddenly dark throwns are all over the place, intense music plays, butts clench, and...the tower becomes a plant kaiju. Classic Team MZ antics am I right?

Vinnie bounces and Team MZ figures out what to do next. You'll need to run across the roofs and make your way to the center. Taunie calls saying that from up high she can see Zygarde on the roof in the Magenta District. Time to run.

Before we can though, Mega Gengar and Mega Heracross show up, probably upset they didn't have a role in the game.

After you defeat them Lida heals your Pokemon. Lida decides it's time for a strategy meeting.

The Rogue Megas all over the city need to be calmed down and Taunie/Floette need to be rescued. First things first, you need to get to get to Zygarde, but how? There's too much wreckage if only...

ree

Suddenly the Holo form of Canari shows up. Oh, and Ivor and Corbeau and Vinnie. Now that we...oops...Jacinthe just showed up too. She shows an aerial map that shows that the city is over taken by vines and large flowers.

They decide the best bet is to clear a path for your character to get to Zygarde (who I remind you, could teleport to me) and after some debate, it looks like this is the chosen path.

ree

You'll be running the path, occasionally teaming up with someone to fight a Rogue Mega and to clear a path.

Emma then calls and tells you to also Trust in L. That I need to trust in Zygarde. Yeah, thanks. Time to move.

First we need to head for Ivor and Gwynn. Just follow the path, it's straight forward.

Once there you'll find them tangling with a Mega Kangaskhan, a Mega Pigeot, and a Mega Garchomp.

ree

Warning. You are not going to be able to see a thing during this fight. Just keep locked in on something, battle, and watch your health.

Afterwards, Mega Scizor, and two Mega Sharpedos appear. In Sailor Moon finale fashion though, Gwynn offers to stay behind to slow them down so you can keep moving forward. She wishes you luck with the cutest fist bump ever.

Time to run again, Ivor is coming with.

Now you and Ivor need to head to the next point to meet up with Canari. It's still fairly linear here. Some debris blocks your path however. If only they could find a way to knock the nearby tall pile of rubble over to create a bridge. And...Ivor and Mega Falink have punched it. Problem solved.

Gwynn catches up and the two of them are psyched to see each other. Time to cross the bridge and keep going.

Eventually you make it to Canari who's with her granpda and his crew as well as that one Canari fan you bestest way back when before a Mega Steelix and a Mega Blastoise.

Hey Canari, you gonna lend a hand?

ree

Tarragon announced that he's going to have the crew work on fixing and clearing scaffolding while y'all do your fighting stuff.

After the battle against those Rogue Megas, Canari heals you up. You then see that Terragon's men have REALLY made a meal out of the messed up scaffolding, but you have a path now.

Terragon ensures me I'm up for the challenge and Canari, reading my mind says...

ree

They all decide to stay back and hold off more Rogue Megas while I run forward.

The scaffolding isn't too tricky, just don't run off the narrow platforms and you'll be fine. Make your way to the end and you'll have to head off to your next stop while Canari and the rest hold back some Mega Lopunny and Mega Beedrill.

Now to meet up with Jacinthe and Lebanne who have met up with a Mega Salamence and a Mega Aggron.

Jacinthe, in holo form, lets you know that she's currently organizing things with the mayor and such to keep people out of harms way but volunteers Lebanne's services.

ree

Afterwards, Jacinthe jumpscares Lebanne in person.

ree

The two of them, side by side, stay behind to hold off a crowd of mega Abomasnows and Houndooms by cleverly activating the Jacinthe Zone to wall them in. Get moving.

Now we're off to find Corbeau that Rust Syndicate. You'll find Corbeau in a nearby shopping center talking to Phillipe over the phone when a Mega Gardevoir and Mega Gallade show up.

Afterwards, you and Corbeau need to get to the rest of his gang and Philippe. They weer supposed to put up a ladder against a large building for you but the Megas kept destroying them so...what's a gang to do?

ree

Corbeau "sacrifices" himself to become part of the ladder for you. Climb it and keep going.

From here you must navigate the rooftops to get to your final destination. It's a fairly simple path. And don't worry about falling off, you can't. I tried. You're welcome.

Eventually, however, you run into a Mega Alakazam, a Mega Metagross, and a Mega Aerodactyl...but also...Grisham and Griselle.

ree

After you win that one, they heal you up with some coffee and then Zygarde (finally) shows up. Before too much can happen though Grisham and Griselle find themselves putting up a defense against a swarm of Mega Pinsirs.

ree

Now it's you and Zygarde. Follow that pup.

Again, you cannot fall off so just follow. Once at the tower, Taunie calls you to reminisce a bit about how you first met and got a glimpse of Floette's Light of Ruin. She says that Ange can do it too and I might wanna watch myself if the big girl goes ahead and does that.

And of course this is when L shows up to mention he's got 99 Zygarde Cells, but the one hidden away on me ain't one.

ree

You then get a really pretty cut scene in which the goodest boy calls forth all the Zygarde cells to become 100% form.

Sudden;ly flowers bust out of the ground and...I guess we're fighting a building, the "Hyperrogue Ange Floette". Take out the flowers first. They have individual health bars over their heads.

With that done, the big health bar dips down a bit and Zygarde attacks the tower which causes the tower to fire a bunch of lasers into the sky. At this moment, run to the green glow beneath Zygarde because that's all that is going to protect you from the shower of pain that's about to rain down for a moment.

After that, more flowers. Keep fighting them but watch because they'll go after your trainer more often now. Also, every now and then the flowers will retreat giving you a couple seconds to find the green light of Zygarde before more Light of Ruin beams fall from the sky.

Another set down.

Zygarde does another ultimate and it's time to fight the flowers again. I should mention you should keep hopping into your inventory to heal and everything. It's a long right.

The third time is tricky because they'll create massive areas covered in poisonous purple smoke that will still cause a ton of rapid damage even if it doesn't poison you.

Another set down.

Zygarde does another ultimate. This time all you have is Core Enforcer which triggers a big ol' cut scene which puts an end to Ange Floette's rampage.

Taunie thanks the lot of you over the phone saying that now that that's done, it's time for Mega Floette to take control of Ange. But...of course an awful sound happens first. Oh, Ange is still trying to move.

Suddenly the flower on the top opens up and a giant ball of energy starts to form. It's suddenly getting ready to fire off Light of Ruin only WAY more powered up. But suddenly your bag starts shaking. OH YEAH, Remember when you got that weird pebble that's been in your inventory forever? Go ahead and just grip that tightly.

It's Zygardite? Huh, didn't know that was a thing. Deus ex Mega Evolution I guess. You take the stone and throw it to Zygarde who's ready to show you his final form. WHAT IS THIS THING.

ree

Just then a massive Light of Ruin beam shoots into the sky and comes falling down, but now Zygarde has GUN and a move called Nihil Light which absolutely spanks the Light of Ruin out of the sky causing the tower and the explosion to go full Disney.

Taunie climbs down with the remarkably weakened Floette and...wow. AZ watches from the roof top as the life energy is finally dissipated from the tower...and credits.

Keep the credits going because they actually show several really cool shots of the characters all working together to rebuild the town together as well as turning the area around the destroyed tower into Wild Zone 20 and some other things that looks like it's leading into some after game content.

After the credits the gang meets at the grave for AZ who, of course...the life energy got dissipated. I get it.

ree

And with that....Mission/Game Complete!

See you for the End Game content! sniff
