This is part of our extensive guide to Pokemon Legends: Z-A
NOTE: I went with a male presenting character so my character's bestie will be Taunie. If you went with one of the more female presenting ones you'll be friends with Urbain instead.
At Emma's office we put in Grisham as a missing person. Emma informs me that I can get the information but it might put me in danger.
To make sure you're ready Emma asks you to meet her outside for a battle first.

Detective Emma uses:
Ampharos (weak to Ground)
Mawile (weak to Ground, Fire)
Lopunny (weak to Fighting)
Lucario (weak to Fighting, Fire, Ground)
Mega Malamar (weak to Bug, Fairy)
She then asks if we know anything about Team Flare. She explained that five years ago it was led by Lysandre. She explains that Team Flare tried to do things to leave a legacy behind, such as he Expansion Suit that Emma wears at all times.
Another involved training up a new generation of members. Oh no.
Grisham is, apparently, a member of the Team Flare reboot.
She then informs me that Mable (remember her?) at the Pokemon Research Labs might know more about him for reasons Emma doesn't think is her place to tell me.
So let's fast travel to the labs. Boy, long mission, ain't it?
Once there head on up to the third floor and talk to Mable where she is pounding her desk yelling about a vile little man. Apparently the mayor is blaming her for all the wild zones popping up. But, regardless, we need info.
She blushes and states she has no idea who that is.
The music will get really weird and Mable will reveal she too used to be part of Team Flare. Apparently she went down along with the OG team and took a plea deal. It's how she ended up in the lab so they could keep tabs on her.
She tells you that Grisham, was nicknamed Gris which means Gray...

She informs you that if you HAVE to find him, you might wanna try by the coffee truck Nouveau Cafe.
Okey doke, time to head to the cafe. Sheesh this mission. Once there we're going to look for...oh...him. I'm kinda mad at myself for not getting this one.
It's the guy running the truck who's been weird forever.
The truck, as it turns out, is just a front for "Team Flame Nouveau". As Grisham tries to explain, his associate, Griselle, interrupts. Griselle puts a location on your phone. She says that if you want the truth, go there and talk to her.
They announced they'll close up early and head over. Oh my GOD this mission.
Head to the NEW spot on the map. The abandoned cafe or under it's previous name..."Lysandre Cafe". It's apparently the place where Team Flare Nouveau uses as a base.
Griselle gets tired of you trying to understand Team Flare and gets the unstoppable urge to fight so...there's no avoiding it. Get ready.

My new favorite character Griselle of Team Flare Nouveau uses:
Talonflame (weak to Water, Rock, Electric)
Aerodactyl (weak to Water, Rock, Electric, Ice, Steel)
Camerupt (weak to Water, Ground)
Metagross (weak to Dark, Ground, Ghost, Fire)
Mega Pyroar (weak to Water, Ground, Rock)
Mega Greninja destroyed this gang.
Afterwards she handles her defeat about as gracefully as Cuomo and continues to argue but she then gives us some coffee to heal up the your Pokemon and moves on.
Grisham explains that Lysandre only took the path he did because AZ tempted him with the ultimate weapon that caused his downfall into villainy. Which...not entirely wrong.
He then opens a secret passage from the cafe to Lysandre Labs. Griselle warns that it is a labyrinth filled with Pokemon that have moved in and started calling it home. So...this won't be quick. Oh my god what even is this mission.
First, head to the bottom right of the map and activate the machine there to turn the power on. Then turn around and go into the teleporter right by the switch. This takes you to a place with a Dawn Stone as well as Lab Key Card A.
Then return and hit up the other teleporter. It's a dead end, but you can, potentially, catch an Electrike through the narrowly opened door if you're clever.
Then head back again to where you started but take the door on the left that was previously locked. The Lab Key Card A will open it. Mind the Noiverns and Houndoom.
It's pretty linear through here to the next console you need to bring power back to the next set of teleporters. Do that.
From here there are two teleporters. The one right by the switch you just flipped that you can't reach and another one in the next room back you already went through. The one in the other room will lead to another teleport that will be a dead end with the Lab Key Card B in it. Snag that and return.
In the room near the switch you flipped you'll find the door with the green scanner that requires Lab Key Card B. You know what to do.
Once through it's pretty linear but make sure to hit the spot to the west if you need Beldum. Running around this purple area you can also find things like a Max Revive and Thunder Stone laying on the floor so snag those then find the switch and hit it.
There's only one teleporter in this area so go ahead and beam up. It'll take you to a little room with just another teleporter. Go in that one.
In the next section watch out as I came across two Ekans and a massive alpha Arbok. Get rid of those. In the same room you fought the snakes you'll find Lab Key Card C. There's also a Full Restore and a Fire Stone in these rooms so look for those.
Then use Key Card C against the Purple panel near a door and go through.
This will lead to a long hallway with an alpha Aegislash and two Honedge chilling at the end, you gotta fight them and can't catch them. Sorry. After that the path will now be clear.
Investigating the desk in the middle of the room will get you the Elevator Key. There's also a really cool rock in the back of the office the room that will give you a reference to something folks who played X and Y will be very familiar with. Once you look at that stuff go ahead and flip that switch.
The switch powers on the teleporter behind you. Take that and it'll bring you back to the elevator door. That's convenient. Take the elevator. It'll ask if you want to go to B2F or B3F. I'm gonna go with B2F first.
Okay, that leads to a poor lit hallway with a jail cell at the end. I'm sure that won't come into play ever (it's also the place where Lysandre had AZ locked up in X and Y. Let's go back to the elevator and hit up B3F.
Once there you really only have one way to go. Enter the big assembly room. Once on a machine recognizes that you have collected every key card and begins a partial reboot of all systems. Uh-oh. Then it activates voice guidance. It gives you the option to run four different recordings:
File 1: The Device
File 2: The Fuel
File 3: The Legends
File 4: Our Shared Dream
If you're curious, here's what each says:
File 1: "The Device That Grants Life. This device was created three thousand years in the past. It was originally designed to restore life to a Pokemon that had perished. We have found this ultimate weapon buried in the earth beneath Geosenge Town. It has been well preserved. We believe we can have it operational with a little work. But we have not yet found the necessary key to activate the weapon. We believe AZ should still possess it, since he was the machine's creator. We must find him and capture him---without delay."
File 2: "The 'Device That Grants Life' in fact grants the deceased life stolen from other Pokemon. This is because the basic function of the device is to distill energy into its purest form, then emit that distilled energy. This emission can take the form of convection, radiation, or conduction. Thus life can be conducted back into a Pokemon that had lost its own, allowing it to be revived. What, then, would occur if we were to fuel the device with the energy of a Legendary Pokemon?
File 3: "Kalos is said to have two Legendary Pokemon. Xerneas---which represents life and rebirth. And Yveltal---representing destruction and death. The power to grant life and the power to steal life. These are mysterious abilities that even science has not been able to decode. What would happen to the world if we were to use such power to activate the ultimate weapon?
File 4: "As the world grows wealthier, the number of Pokemon and people will only continue to grow, and that growth will invite new difficulties. In time, life will fill every corner of the planet, until no more life can be sustained. When there is only one of something, it cannot be shared. When something cannot be shared, it will be fought over. And when something is fought over, some must survive without it. The only way to create a world where people live in beauty, a world without conflict or theft, is to reduce the number of living things. My comrades in Team Flare, the time has come to lead the world toward a more beautiful future.
After you read all four Zygard 10% shows up followed by Lysandre who asks if you finally understand how abominable that ultimate weapon was. Lysandre said that, luckily, he never had the thing needed to launch the ultimate weapon, a very rare Floette.
He states that Zygarde needs to get back to full power before the tower itself enters a frenzied state not unlike Rogue Mega Evolution. And if that happens, the only one who can bring it under control is AZ's Floette, "The Eternal Flower".
Lysandre then tells you to go back and speak with Grisham and then AZ and then do what must be done. Make your way back to B1F and then into the cafe to meet up with Grisham. He asks you to acquire AZ's Floette and bring it to him which I absolutely will NOT be doing thank you very much.
He says, before I can battle him, I must go back to Hotel Z and teach my crew of "AZ's sins" and then determine whether or not to give the Floette.
THIS MISSION IS STILL GOING.
Back at the hotel, AZ invites you and the rest of the Scooby Gang up to the roof to talk. He mentions the ultimate weapon and his regrets for his past deeds. He talks about the war 3000 years ago in which his Floette died and his grief that caused him to design a machine that would bring her back.

He talked about how his rage brought him to design the ultimate weapon to end war itself. That always goes well. But Floette realized what the weapon would do and left him alone for 3000 years.
During that time, he met a man that convinced him to design a device of eternal life called Ange that took the form of a large tower that a city eventually took form around. Wait...
He says that his accidental firing of Ange five years ago is what is causing the Rogue Mega Evolution and for the city to be safe, one must take Mega Evolve Floette and get to the control panel within Ange to shut it down, ending the eternal life powers it grants.
Afterwards, it's decided that you need to go defeat Grisham and then stop the tower. So it's back to Nouveau Cafe to talk to Grisham. (Make sure you have your Z-A Royale Challenger's Ticket.
Ghrisham of Team Flare Nouveau uses:
Pangoro (weak to Fighting, Flying, Fairy)
Malamar (weak to Fairy, Bug)
Pyroar (weak to Water, Rock, Fighting, Ground)
Tyranitar (weak to Fighting, Ground, Fairy, Grass, Bug, Water, Steel)
Salamence (weak to Fairy, Rock, Dragon, Ice)
Mega Charizard X (weak to Dragon, Ground, Rock)

Afterwards, congrats! You're Rank A now!
Ghisham states that he will accept defeat and, should the need arise, Team Flare Noveau will come to your aid. He also gives you the TM for Flare Blitz. He then returns to his coffee truck where Zygarde is on the roof of it.
Oh my god is there STILL more?
Lysandre shows up and says that Zygarde is still unable to find all its cells and hopes it will be ready in time for what is to come. Cool. Time to head back to the Hotel.
Mission Complete! Finally!
